When planning a beach day, being packed and prepared is key. Alongside sunscreen and towels, staying hydrated and nourished is very important, so a day at sea is not complete without a cooler full of snacks! You don't want to have to deal with much preparation once you're at the beach, so stick to the basics. See below for beach-friendly treats that can handle the heat and are delicious to eat!

Beachy Beverages

Playing in the waves and soaking up the sun is loads of fun but can easily drain your energy and dehydrate you. Some of the best beachy beverages to quench your thirst include water bottles, infused water, juice boxes, or Powerade to be on top of your electrolytes! Be sure not to pack any glass containers as they aren’t allowed on most beaches. 

Pear-fect Fruits for the Beach

Including healthy treats for your beach day is a grape way to stay hydrated. Tap into a tropical state of mind by packing some delicious fruits! Fruit is the perfect beach snack to make you feel refreshed and energized, plus they taste even better when enjoyed under the hot sun!

Sand-Wiches by the Sand

Running around and playing in the sun can really work up an appetite! After building a sandcastle, indulge in a sandwich! Sandwiches are a beach snack staple and they come in a variety to please just about everyone in your group. See below for some favorites! 

  • Subway Sandwiches 
  • Publix Sub Sandwiches (Platters or individual) 
  • Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches 
  • Build your own (loaf of bread, lunch meat, cheese, etc.)
  • Pinwheels and Wraps

Salty and Sweet Snacks by the Sea

It’s vacation and you’re allowed to indulge! Something about the beach makes a crunchy, salty or sweet snack so satisfying. See below for some classic store-bought snacks to make feeding your group on the go a little easier! To make for an easy snack time, try bagging your snacks into ziplock bags so they can be sealed and safe from sand.

  • Chips (Full bag or individual baggies)
  • Oreos/Cookies
  • Goldfish Crackers
  • Pretzels
  • Beef Jerky
  • Fruit Snacks

Leave only footprints, take only memories

Most importantly, bring trash bags! Oftentimes, snacks and drinks that are brought to the beach come wrapped in plastic. We must be mindful of picking up after ourselves to prevent littering and to keep our beaches beautiful and clean!
