Experience one of Destin’s most treasured traditions at the 78th Annual Destin Fishing Rodeo, a month-long celebration of fishing, competition, and the coastal lifestyle that has helped make Destin known as the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.” Established in 1948, the Destin Fishing Rodeo has grown from a local fishing competition into one of the Gulf Coast’s premier fishing events, attracting anglers from near and far.

Throughout October, anglers of all ages can compete aboard registered private and charter boats for daily, weekly, and overall awards across numerous species and divisions. 

You don’t have to be an angler to enjoy the excitement! Daily weigh-ins are free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the docks behind AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar, giving visitors and locals a front-row view as anglers bring in their catches and compete for prizes.

From watching the big catches arrive at the docks to experiencing the energy of Destin Harbor, the Fishing Rodeo is a quintessential Destin experience. Come fish, come watch, and come celebrate a tradition that has been bringing people together on the Emerald Coast for nearly eight decades.

Whether you’re chasing the big one or cheering from the docks, the 78th Annual Destin Fishing Rodeo is where Destin’s fishing heritage comes alive.

Odie’s Beach Vacation brings a weekend of live music, beachside activities, and Gulf Coast fun to Miramar Beach, Florida, just minutes from Destin. Curated by country music group Old Dominion, this three-night beach getaway offers an exciting lineup of live performances, local food and drinks, and activities for music lovers and beachgoers alike.

Taking place October 1–3, 2026, Odie’s Beach Vacation is one of the Emerald Coast’s can’t-miss October events, featuring performances from Old Dominion and other artists along with beach yoga, a pickleball tournament, golf scramble, brunch cruise, and more. Since 1974 the Northwest Florida Fair Association has held its annual Fair to promote agriculture by showcasing a variety of livestock species, art displays and a carnival for all to enjoy.

The Fair is on for 2026! There is no need to travel out of the area to have fun. This year we have lots of surprises in store for you. This year's NW Florida Fair will be September 29 – October 3, 2026.
