1. Make Waves at the Beach!

Our gorgeous beaches are perhaps the biggest draw for visitors to the Emerald Coast. Hot summer days call for cooling off in the gulf, and soaking up the sun! Luckily, most hotels, vacation rental homes, and condos offer private beach access, so this is an absolute must while on your summer vacation!

In Destin, there are tons of local dolphin cruises for you and your crew to enjoy! Catching sight of these majestic creatures playing in their natural habitat is truly enjoyable for all, and a great way to make lifelong memories! These tours also offer a knowledgeable staff so these cruises are often very educational as well.

The Destin Harbor, also known as HarborWalk Village, stretches about a quarter-mile and is all waterfront. Visiting the Harbor is a great way to spend the day or evening, with weekly events, delicious local restaurants, bars, shops, games, harbor cruises, and more! Be sure to stop by and see what all the fun is about this summer!

If you have heard of Destin before, chances are you have heard of the infamous Crab Island as well! Crab Island is not what it sounds like, not an island nor filled with crabs, Crab Island is a sandbar right outside of the Destin bridge! People flock to this destination to relax on their boats, listen to music, and socialize in the waist-deep, shallow waters. Although it's known for its party atmosphere, recent visitors said Crab Island is just as fun for families, and note there is plenty of room for everyone to find their own space away from the crowds! Getting to Crab Island does require transportation via boat, so be sure to research local pontoon rentals, Crab Island shuttle boats, kayak rentals, jet skis, etc.

Destin is referred to as "The World's Luckiest Fishing Village" and there is a reel reason for that nickname! Destin hosts a large variety of sea life, meaning anglers have plenty of hot spots from which to cast off. Test your luck at any one of the city's jetties, beaches, piers, or the Destin Bridge, where you can cast and catch all day long! Another great way to fish is by deep-sea charter boats! The Destin Harbor is home to hundreds of local deep-sea fishing charters, and party boats for a true fishing experience out on the gulf. If you decide to book a fishing charter, all necessary supplies such as rods, reels, and fishing licenses are included in the price, and the crew will even fillet the day’s catch!

Slide into the action at the largest water park on the Emerald Coast! This park is a blast for both adults and children with a kiddy-pool play area, lazy river, a 5-story Jumanji thrill-seeking slide, and more with over 40 attractions to choose from! Be sure to stop by and make a splash, cool off, and make memories at Big Kahunas!
