The outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is an unprecedented situation. We are keeping a close eye on the situation through announcements from the CDC, WHO, and Florida Department of Health. We’re following the recommendations of these entities regarding our approach to business. We’re reaching out today to share what actions we’re taking to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.
The Compass Standard
Compass Resorts prides itself on maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Our entire staff is taking great care to ensure everything you touch during your visit is kept sanitary and safe. In addition to our usual standards, we’ve taken steps to further intensify our cleaning and sanitization procedures in accordance with recommendations from the WHO, CDC, and Florida Department of Health to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
At Our Properties
Property cleaners at each location have increased the frequency of the cleaning and sanitization of commonly contacted items and areas around our properties. This includes high touch surfaces such as door handles, public area computers, furniture, service items, elevator doors and buttons, and fitness center equipment around the resort and property. We sanitize our properties following the CDC's instructions. Our cleaners use EPA-registered products effective against all viruses, including COVID-19. All sofas and upholstered items are sanitized with ALLY, a cleaning product that's safe to use on all food-borne surfaces. Our linens are laundered off-site using water at 170 degrees with a steam injection and 20% chlorine solution--versus the 6% bleach in regular solutions. Then, linens are pressed with a 345 degree iron to further disinfect.
At Our Offices
Our front desks have also increased cleaning frequency to thoroughly sanitize commonly used items. This includes key cards, desktops, public-use pens, telephones, and after-hours check-in boxes. Our staff is equipped with gloves, plexiglass shields, and other appropriate sanitizing products. Masks are mandatory for all Compass Resorts employees to ensure the health and safety of everyone. And, at the start of every work day, our staff is checking their temperatures and screening for COVID-19. If a Compass Resorts employee experiences COVID-19 symptoms, they are required to stay home until they test negative for the virus. This is to ensure we provide a safe and sanitary environment for all our employees and guests.
In Our Vacation Rentals
All rental accommodations are thoroughly and professionally cleaned and inspected prior to guests checking in. Our usual techniques for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces (including high-touch surfaces like television remotes, telephones, doorknobs, locks, latches, and light switches) have been boosted to help ensure the most hygienic environment possible.
We are working diligently to take precautions as recommended by health authorities. We continue to ensure proper social distancing as well as prevention hygiene, like hand washing and hand sanitizing, to maintain our Compass standards of clean. Our goal is to ensure the health and safety of our guests, employees, and vacation rental owners. To give our guests peace of mind during this ever-changing situation, we have implemented a “Vacation Continuation” Policy, which allows eligible reservations to be modified without penalty.
